Big Al's Down the Hatch

Random Google search brought us here on our drive to Waco. Great customer service. Jalepeno poppers and big al's balls were delicious!!

Big All's is HIGHLY over rated, by personal opinions. I am currently visiting Big Al's for the first time and very disappointed with everything; but, mostly, the food, flavor, portions & prices. You pay inflated entree prices for appitizer foods, that are called entrees.

My boyfriend and I came from out of state to visit the parents in Texas and on a whim, we decided to try this place and I am super glad we did! The waitress was attentive but the best part was the food! Very good, excellent actually! I highly recommend the chicken and waffles! We'll be back when we're in Texas again!

Went last night and overall, had a great experience! Listening to the music/karaoke was so fun!! My group really enjoyed it. I ordered the Angry Pirate drink (SO GOOD) and the sloppy joe which was also incredibly delicious so I'll definitely be back. My ONLY issue was with the skillet cookie 😔 Y'all. I am the queen of ordering skillet cookies and this one was dry. I still ate it because it was really good. I'm not sure if it comes with ice cream. Mine didn't have it but next time I'll ask and if not, I'd get it on there. The ice cream would definitely help.Like I said, I'll definitely be back! 🖤

Unfortunately as much as we love Big Al, today was a terrible experience. :( One waitress to handle the bar and restaurant. One cook. Waited for over 1 and 1/2 and food was cold (not supposed to be) and chic fried steak nuked to scalding temp with no seasoning. Table behind us were literally laying down on table with empty tea glasses! Guac was grey and included a jalapeno stick in granny's nachos. 😢

Meatloaf dry. No sorta tomato sauce or even ketchup. When I order meatloaf I expect for it to have some sort of tomato element to it.Brisket sandwich. Hardly no meat cold cheese and no sorta sauce. Mashed potatoes and mac and cheese we're okay if they just put a handful of that shredded cheese in the mac and cheese would be good

My wife, daughter and I stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday. Not crowded at all. Had good service and enjoyed our meals. We all had bacon cheese burgers that were quite good. The fries could have been cooked a little bit more, but were still good. Lots of tvs for watching college football, but not too loud that you weren't able to carry on a conversation at the table.We will definitely keep Big Al's on our list of places to eat.

Very nice staff and wonderful owner. Really nice place to hang out.

Not bad for bar food. Was quite surprised how good the meetloaf was. Staff and service was excellent. Was fortunate enough that Big Al himself was there. He was very personable and welcomed pics with fans!

It was OK. Friendly waitress. Food was good, not great. Good selection. A little overpriced. I would try again though.

Nicely air-conditioned and lots of screens, and a few nicely positioned outside seats to look over the Old Court building

Staff was friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Saw the wall of activities and it appears to be an exciting place to hangout.

The manager, Jamie, was extremely rude and unprofessional. The food is over priced. I have seen cockroaches in this establishment. Wouldn’t recommend. I had a friend who worked here and the treatment was very unequal. She was fired for no reason and then escorted out after trying to enter for dinner and drinks.

Came here for the first time yesterday! The food was delicious! Omg y’all. The waffle was AMAZING!! It tasted like Birthday cake. The sweet & spicy mayo was a great compliment for it. Can’t wait to go back again!! Next time I’m going to try the wings. They had some sauces that I definitely wanted to try.

We ordered the Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken as well as the Chopped Brisket Sandwich!! Both entrees were amazing!! Then for dessert we ordered the cookie in a skillet with ice cream and whipped cream, delicious!! Katie was our server and took wonderful care of us!! It's a fun place to hang with friends and family!!

I come to Waxahachie semi-regularly enough for work that I have been here a couple of times for lunch in the last few months. Upon walking in the door I am greeted with friendly smiles and friendly and genuine “Hello, how are you doing today?” Usually by every single person (granted they’re not slammed wall to wall but still it matters). Each time I try something new and everything has been delicious! Today especially they put up with me being on the phone/organizing work and home life and they didn’t seem irritated and as I’m dripping sauce all over, a worker rushes up to me with plenty of extra napkins. I love this place! Also a bonus, Al actually walked in while I was eating and working on work material and was super friendly! I absolutely love this place and between the food and friendly staff I’ll always come back! You’d never feel like a stranger here!

This place is so good! I thought since it was a new place, people were just giving in to the hype. But after having dessert here... I’m sold! Good job Big Al & the folks that work there. Amazing. Personalized service + good food = a happy customer.

Absolutely loved Big Al's Down The Hatch on our visit this time. 1st the Service was awesome, the food has improved 200%, I loved the brunch menu, it was not over complicated it was perfect. Hubby and I enjoyed the Bloody Mary Bar and they also have Mimosas and Sangria for their brunch. I know Big Al is really taking a vested interest in this location as we and family members see him here all the time. Our daughter said they do an awesome job on Karaoke Night also. We will definitely be returning back.

I love Big Al's! The food is delicious and the wait staff is super friendly. The drinks are fantastic as well or at least the one so had was. Katie our waitress was super awesome and did a wonderful job for my Mom and I when we were there. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good food and friendly faces.

Met the owner before knowing who he was and he humbly expressed he has great food. Immediately when I entered BIG Al's I was impressed. Every where I looked, every staff member and all the decor made me feel warm and fuzzy. My garlic parmesan wings and fries.....OMG!!!!!!! = Belly HAPPY. Oh and I was the only patron. Can't wait to come back with my crew. 5 stars 🌟 not enough. DON'T cheat yourself, TREAT YOURSELF😀😀😀

Great cozy atmosphere with a great view from their downtown patio. Great staff !!
